What is Deepmark?

You remember the reel. One pan. Something with pasta. You saved it. Instagram, or YouTube Watch Later, or an X bookmark from a Tuesday you cannot date. The title is a username and a cooking-show grin. Nothing in it says pasta.
Deepmark is a Chrome extension that says you type the half-memory and get the file back. The Chrome Web Store listing and Product Hunt both use that line: “the reel with the one-pan pasta trick” finds the reel even though nothing in it says pasta. The homepage does not. The homepage is a dolphin-faced gadget and a Product Hunt badge with 110 upvotes. Product Hunt ranked Deepmark number 15 on 2026-08-18. The Store shows 5 users, no ratings, version 0.3.1, updated 2026-08-07. We could not install it here. So this is a listing review. The pasta is still missing.
Deepmark is a Workflow & Planning extension that wants one library for Chrome bookmarks, X bookmarks, Instagram saves, and YouTube Watch Later and Liked. Browser bookmarks auto-index, according to the site. The other three stay off until you switch them on. It needs a Deepmark account. It needs a paid plan. There is no free tier. Whether the pasta query works, we have not typed it.

Who made Deepmark and can you trust them?

Deepmark is published by usedeepmark.com, from Shafkathullah Ihsan in India, with a real inbox at hey@shafu.xyz. Version 0.3.1 landed 2026-08-07. He showed it on Hacker News on 2026-08-13 and on Product Hunt five days later. The legal pages call it an independent product. That is as much identity as we needed for a 5-user listing.

How does Deepmark work?

Add to Chrome, if Chrome will let you. Then pin it. Chrome still hides new icons behind the puzzle-piece menu. Two clicks. That is a tip, not a product review.
What the Chrome Web Store listing and usedeepmark.com say, verified 2026-08-31:
The search. Not title-and-URL. Saved pages get read. Videos and reels get transcribed. Images get described. Text on slides and screenshots gets picked up. You type a half-memory. The listing’s examples are a pricing thread, an ice-cave talk, and the pasta reel. We have those sentences. We do not have a result page.
The sources. Chrome bookmarks import in one pass, folders included, with Ctrl+D adding new ones. X bookmarks, Instagram saves, and YouTube Watch Later and Liked are opt-in. The listing says Deepmark never asks for those passwords and never shares the logins. Each extra source stays off until you flip it. Fine. A four-app vacuum should not start on day one.
The client. A side panel over the page you are already on. A web app at usedeepmark.com. An MCP endpoint the site says works with Claude Code, Claude.ai, Cursor, and ChatGPT. We opened none of those as a signed-in user.
The numbers on the homepage are the company’s: a reel searchable in about 90 seconds, a 10,000-item library in under 100 milliseconds, 89 percent top-5 recall, 99 languages. Those are claims. They are not a lab report.
The gallery shows a Flipper Zero for “that device with a dolphin face,” a glacier talk for the ice cave, and cooking reels that are pulao and idli. Not pasta. The pasta lives in the copy.

How much does Deepmark cost in 2026?

Verified 2026-08-31. Deepmark needs a Deepmark account (Google or email code) and a paid plan to save or search your own library. The site mentions fair-use media indexing and does not publish the cap. $10 is the monthly price, not a sale.

What worked well when we tested Deepmark?

We did not test the binary. Chrome on this machine is managed, and a live search would have needed an account we did not create. What follows is what the listing is good at.

• It names the actual mess. Four apps. Four lists. A title that never matches the thing you remember. A search box for the half-memory is the right feature to sell.
• The extra sources stay off. X, Instagram, YouTube are opt-in, according to the listing. Browser bookmarks are the default. That is the correct order even as copy.
• It does not ask for social passwords. The listing is explicit. The syncs run in your browser session. Believe the rest when a save actually comes back.
• The pasta line is a real scene. Product Hunt and the Store both use it. That is rarer than a feature list.
• MCP is written down. Hosted endpoint, OAuth, no API key paste, three tools. If it works, this is more than a side panel. We have not connected it.

What didn’t work when we tested Deepmark?

• We could not run it. Managed Chrome. No popup shot, no side panel over Wikipedia, no pasta result. Treat every feature bullet as listed, not observed.
• The demo is behind a login. The Store says there is a free demo library you can search before signing up. Live /search and /demo both redirected to /login on 2026-08-31. The compare pages on the site already say the demo is behind sign-up. The Store sentence is the leftover.
• It is a crowded save box. Raindrop.io has 400,000 Chrome users. mymind has 100,000. Toby has 300,000. Deepmark has 5. If you just want bookmarks you can find, those listings already exist. Deepmark is the newer, paid, describe-the-reel listing.
• Company metrics only. 90 seconds, 89 percent, 10,000 items. Printed on the homepage. Not measured here.

The homepage preferring a dolphin gadget to the pasta reel is not on this list. That is marketing. Harmless. And a little funny, given the headline they already wrote.

Who should use Deepmark, and who shouldn’t?

Should

• People who save across Chrome, X, Instagram, and YouTube, and who actually search by the thing they remember, not the title.
• People willing to pay $10 a month for a 5-user listing that shipped this month, knowing we have not confirmed a single query.

Shouldn’t

• People who only need a bookmark manager. Raindrop.io already has the users. Because 400,000 people got there first.
• People who will not create an account or pay. Deepmark has no free tier. The extension is the client. The product is the subscription.

Other save tools exist. Several of them have more users. Deepmark is still the listing this review is about.

All Store figures verified 2026-08-31. Raindrop’s live Pro dollar amount was not in the site HTML today, so it stays “Pro” here.

Verdict

Ease of use: 6/10 — the listing reads as pin, sign in, search. We did not get that far. Account and payment sit in front of the query.
Value: 6/10 — $10 a month for a 5-user listing. The extras (reels, OCR, MCP) are the reason to pick it over Raindrop, if they work.
Reliability: 5/10 — v0.3.1 this month, five users, no ratings. Maintained. Unproven on our machine. The demo URL did not do what the Store said.
Privacy: 7/10 — listing says no social passwords, extra sources off until asked, no analytics cookies on the site. We did not audit a live library.
Support: 6/10 — hey@shafu.xyz and support@usedeepmark.com exist. The Store Support URL is empty. We did not email either.
Overall: 6/10
You still cannot find the reel. The title still does not say pasta. Deepmark put a search box on that joke. We have not typed the joke into the box. If you want bookmarks with less theater, Raindrop is already on four hundred thousand machines. If you want the describe-the-reel story, this is the listing to try, with your eyes open, and a card out.
Pin it if you install it. Leave X and Instagram off until you want them. Then see whether the pasta comes back.
